Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to use a shaving brush?

Whether you use a brush or not is down to personal preference. Our shaving cream can be applied either by brush or by massaging into the face with your fingers.
A brush has the benefit of lifting the hairs, creating a better lathering effect and in many cases provides a more comfortable shave.

Do I use a cream, gel or foam?

Foam-based shaving products can dry out and irritate your skin. They often have less of a lubricating effect than a cream or gel, as this is a characteristic of the foam-producing chemicals contained in these types of products.

I have acne. Can I still shave?

Yes. You should use a lubricating shaving cream and shave gently and carefully.
You should also keep your skin extra clean and soft, in preparation for shaving.

How do I deal with ingrown hairs?

Ingrown hairs happen when facial hair curls around and begins to re-enter the skin - this is also known as razor bumps. It’s not pretty and can cause swelling and redness.
The answer is to exfoliate regularly. It helps prepare the skin for shaving but don’t forget to use a shaving cream which contains a high concentration of lubricants. Shave gently and carefully and try to avoid using shaving foams.

Why do I need to exfoliate?

Exfoliating cleans the skin more deeply. It removes dead skin cells, dirt and grime and unclogs the pores. If you exfoliate regularly, you’ll also notice a reduction in ingrown facial hairs.

I don’t have much time – what’s the least I can do?

Shower regularly, using a body wash, exfoliate your face 2-3 times a week. When you shave, don’t forget to finish off with an after shave balm. It really is that easy.
